On November 18, 2020, Verizon released the list of "highly cited scientists" in 2020, including 6167 highly cited scientists from various fields from more than 60 countries in the world.
The number of mainland Chinese scientists on the list continues to soar, from 636 (10.2%) in 2019 to 770 (12.1%) this year. In 2019, the mainland of China has replaced the UK as the second largest "highly cited scientists" region. In 2020, mainland China will still rank second.
The number of scientists selected by the Chinese Academy of Sciences ranked second in the world, and Tsinghua University rose from 19th last year to 9th this year, ranking among the top 10. University of science and technology of China, Peking University and Zhejiang University are also at the top of the list in 2020. Congratulations to Professor Zhang Dabing, director of the research office, who was selected as the "global highly cited scientist" in the subject of "plant and animal science" of Kerui Weian for the fourth time (2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020).
