Academic Report:Mechanistic insight into how plants make cellulose.trans

Speaker: Staffan Persson
Brief introduction of the speaker: the reporter's research focuses on the synthesis and regulation of plant cellulose. He has presided over a number of large-scale scientific research projects and research framework projects, and served as the chief scientist of two major EU research projects. He has published more than 100 high-level academic papers in top academic journals such as cell, science, nature plants, developing cell and PNAS. In 2016 and 2017, he was rated as a global highly cited scholar by SCI for two consecutive times. He taught cell biology, plant biology and other undergraduate and graduate courses, and participated in the development of undergraduate curriculum syllabus of University of Melbourne. The research group has extensive international cooperation with many top laboratories in the field of Plant Science in the world. In 2016, the University of Melbourne MAPP Institute of plant physiology joint doctoral program was established. Due to outstanding academic achievements and other outstanding performance, he was awarded the "Dean's Honorary Award" of the University of Melbourne in 2017.
