Recently, Thomson Reuters released the list of highly cited scientists 2016. Professor Zhang Dabing, the director of our laboratory, was selected into the 2016 list of highly cited scientists in the field of Botany and zoology.
The global highly cited scientists published this time cover materials, chemistry, mathematics, engineering and other disciplines. A total of 3266 scientists were selected, including 196 scientists from China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). Being included in the list means that scholars have international influence in their research field, and their scientific research achievements have made great contributions to the development of this field.
Professor Zhang Dabing has carried out systematic research in the field of rice and other plant reproductive development, isolated and identified several genes related to important agronomic traits such as inflorescence and flower organ development and pollen formation, and clarified the mechanism of inflorescence and flower meristem determination, tapetal cell programmed death, and interaction between germ cells and vegetative cells. More than 90 research papers have been published in developmental cell, PNAs, nature communications, plant cell, plant physics, nuclear acid research, cell research, analytical chemistry, etc. 14 authorized patents, 4 national ISO technical standards and more than 20 national standards have been established. Professor Zhang Dabing was previously shortlisted in the list of highly cited scientists published by the American Society of plant biologists from 2009 to 2013.
