On the afternoon of May 19, 2016, Lu Ming, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of agriculture, Zhong Shaoping, director of science and Technology Department, Tian Jilin, deputy director of agricultural science and Technology Service Center, and Feng Dongsheng, director of agricultural science and Technology Service Center, came to our university to investigate the safety management and science popularization of genetically modified organisms. Sun Lizhen, vice president of the Scientific Research Institute of our university, Shen libing, director of the Scientific Research Institute of our university, as well as relevant scientific researchers from the College of life science and technology and the College of agriculture and biology, participated in the research activities.

In the conference room of the science popularization base of genetically modified organisms in our university, vice president sun Lizhen welcomed the arrival of vice director Lu Ming and his party, and introduced the overall organizational framework of the safety management of genetically modified organisms in our university. Yang Litao, associate professor of life college, introduced the current situation of global commercialization of genetically modified organisms, the research and development and safety management measures of genetically modified organisms in China and major countries in the world, and made a key report on the popular science of genetically modified organisms carried out by our university in recent years. Since 2009, with the efforts of vice president Cai Wei, Professor Zhang Dabing of College of life and other scientific researchers, our university has successively established the national genetically modified organisms molecular characterization verification and testing center, the Ministry of agriculture genetically modified products composition supervision and testing center, and the national genetically modified organisms safety science education base, which has formed the core of genetically modified organisms safety research and science education in China Training base and team.  

Deputy director Lu Ming and his party exchanged and discussed the safety management and detection technology of genetically modified organisms, inquired about the daily work and existing difficulties of the science popularization base of genetically modified organisms, and put forward suggestions on the layout and publicity strategy of the science popularization work of genetically modified organisms. Director Lu fully affirmed the work of our school, and said that the Municipal Agricultural Committee will further increase the support for the safety research and science popularization of genetically modified organisms, and support our school to build a national science popularization education base for the safety of genetically modified organisms, and build a national well-known and characteristic science popularization education base, so as to escort the healthy development of China's genetically modified organisms industry. After the meeting, the visitors and their party visited the exhibition hall of science popularization education of genetically modified organisms in our university, and director Lu gave further guidance to the science popularization of genetically modified organisms in our university.
