Professor Sun Chuanqing graduated from the Department of agronomy of Hunan Agricultural University in 1985, obtained a master's degree from Beijing Agricultural University in 1988 and a doctor's degree from China Agricultural University in 1996. At present, he is a second-class professor of China Agricultural University, doctoral supervisor, winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, distinguished professor of Yangtze River scholars of the Ministry of education, national outstanding talents of agricultural scientific research, national talents of "hundred and ten million talents project", editorial board member of crop J, Journal of agricultural biotechnology, and deputy editor in chief of Acta crop. Professor Sun Chuanqing has been engaged in the research of rice genetic resources for a long time. He has cloned several important genes controlling rice yield, plant type, panicle type, adaptability, stress resistance, nutrient efficient utilization and other traits, and revealed the molecular mechanism of the change of grain dropping, plant type, panicle type, awn and other traits and the increase of yield in the process of rice domestication More than 40 SCI papers have been published in commun, plant cell, mol plant, plant J and other important journals.
