National key R & D Program "seven crops breeding" key special project "heterosis utilization breeding" project group exchange meeting and "Main Crops Heterosis formation and utilization mechanism" project exchange meeting were held in Shanghai Jiaotong University

From March 28 to 29, 2019, the national key R & D Program "seven crops breeding" key special project "heterosis utilization breeding" project group exchange meeting and "Main Crops Heterosis formation and utilization mechanism" project exchange meeting were held in Shanghai Jiaotong University. More than 80 people attended the meeting, including the leaders of the project group of breeding special "heterosis utilization breeding", the project leaders of the units affiliated to the project "heterosis formation and utilization mechanism of main crops", the backbone of the project and the main researchers. The management team of "seven major crop breeding" key projects of China Rural Technology Development Center (hereinafter referred to as "breeding projects") of the Ministry of science and technology, academician Zhang Qifa, academician Chen Xiaoya, academician Liu Yaoguang, Professor Zhang Aimin and Professor Tu Jinxing, academician Mao Junfa, member of the standing Committee of the Party committee and vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and vice president of the Academy of science and technology development of Shanghai Jiaotong University Sun Lizhen, President of the hospital, Professor Feng Yan, executive vice president of School of life science and technology of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Professor Lin shuangjun, vice president of scientific research of School of life science and technology of Shanghai Jiaotong University attended the meeting.
On the morning of March 29, academician Mao Junfa, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee and vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony, and Professor Zhang Dabing presided over the opening ceremony. The exchange of "heterosis utilization and breeding" project group focused on the research progress and problems of heterosis utilization technology and Strong Heterosis Hybrid creation of rice, corn, rape, cotton, soybean, wheat and vegetables. The specially invited experts listened to the report carefully and asked questions and gave suggestions for each project. Zhu Huaping, the special commissioner of breeding, emphasized in the exchange and summary that all subjects should further refine the landmark achievements in strict accordance with the contents of the task book, strengthen the integrated implementation and management of the subjects, reasonably use the research funds, better practice the concept of "whole chain design and integrated implementation" of breeding projects, and create a group collaborative innovation environment in accordance with the new policies and requirements of science and technology plan reform New ecology.
On the afternoon of March 29, Professor Zhou Daoxiu, the chief scientist of the project, presided over the project exchange meeting of "formation and utilization mechanism of Heterosis of main crops". The leaders of 14 sub tasks of the project focused on the omics characteristics and regulatory network of wheat, rice, maize and rape, dominant and super dominant formation mechanism of strong heterosis hybrid combinations, analysis of heterosis groups, and heterosis prediction In this paper, we will report the progress of the new methods and strong heterosis materials, as well as the isolation and mechanism of male sterility genes. Professor Zhang Aimin and Professor Tu Jinxing, members of the project consulting expert group, commented on the implementation of the project, and put forward constructive opinions on the research methods and ideas of heterosis omics characteristics and mechanism analysis. Professor Zhou Daoxiu, chief scientist of the project, summarized the implementation of the project, difficulties in the progress of the project, potential highlights of the project and the arrangement of the later tasks Full communication and discussion.
